Due to new local regulations, Wise is making some changes to how customers in Türkiye can use the service. These changes will go into effect on the following dates:
- From 31 May 2023: Customers will no longer be able to top up their balances from TRY or get new account details in any currency.
- From the date specified in an email from Wise: Customers will no longer be able to open new balances or jars, convert between their balances, add money to their existing balances, receive money into their Wise account, pay bills using Direct Debits, or send money to others from their Wise balances.
Customers will still be able to:
- Send international transfers from their Turkish bank account.
- Withdraw any money they have on their Wise balances.
Wise is emailing all affected customers to give them 60 days notice of the changes.
